Send the part, required orientation and downstream cycle.

Those three inputs reveal more than a catalogue request. Add representative samples, target sustained output, product variants and available space for a useful first technical review.

Clear answers for production and engineering teams.

What is a parts feeding system?

A parts feeding system stores bulk components, separates them, establishes a required orientation and presents accepted parts to an automated process. It may include a hopper, sorter, track, inspection, buffer, escapement, robot, controls and guarding.

How do I know which feeder technology I need?

Define the component family, required presentation, sustained rate, surface restrictions, changeover model and downstream interface. Then test the most practical feeding method with representative parts.

What is the difference between feeding and sorting?

Feeding controls the flow and presentation of components. Sorting adds a decision—such as orientation, variant, quality or destination—and routes accepted and rejected parts accordingly.

Do you supply vibratory bowl feeders?

Yes. Vibratory bowl systems can be specified with custom tooling, hopper, linear track, sensors, escapement, controls and enclosure.

Do you supply centrifugal feeders?

Yes. Centrifugal systems are assessed for suitable robust components where controlled continuous rotary flow is beneficial.

What is a flexible feeder?

A flexible feeder redistributes components on a presentation surface so a camera can locate pickable parts and a robot can place them in the required pose.

Can one feeder run multiple products?

Potentially. Compatible parts may share adjustable tooling, recipes or change parts. Broad format ranges or frequent changes may justify flexible feeding.

Can you inspect parts while feeding them?

Yes. Sensors and vision can check orientation, presence, colour, geometry, print or selected defects where the feature is objectively visible and validated.

How fast can a parts feeder run?

Output is application-specific. It depends on part geometry, accepted orientation, inspection, recirculation, buffer and downstream demand. The rate should be confirmed with representative parts rather than taken from a generic machine maximum.

Why do you need samples?

Samples reveal friction, static, flexibility, nesting, tangling, burrs, surface sensitivity and normal variation that drawings cannot fully describe.

What samples should we send?

Send representative production parts across all variants, suppliers, cavities, colours and finish conditions, plus known difficult or reject samples where inspection is required.

What should a factory acceptance test include?

Define the sample batch, test duration, sustained accepted output, orientation, allowed interventions, part quality, reject challenges, format coverage and required evidence.

Can the feeder integrate with an existing machine?

Yes, subject to a review of mechanical space, discharge datum, controls, safety interface, machine cycle and responsibility boundaries.

Can hoppers and elevators be included?

Yes. Bulk storage and replenishment can be sized around autonomy, safe loading, product depth and feeder demand.

Can guarding and acoustic covers be included?

Yes. Guarding, interlocks, acoustic treatment, access panels, lighting and ventilation can be developed as part of the cell.

Can you support UK installation and commissioning?

Installation and commissioning support can be scoped around the site, supplied equipment and agreed customer preparations.

Do you use Chinese manufacturing partners?

Specialist manufacturing partners may be used, supported by a clear UK project specification, supplier trials and agreed machine interfaces.

Are the website images the exact machines I will receive?

No. They are representative examples of supplier technology. Final design, tooling, guarding, controls and appearance depend on the agreed application and specification.

How much does a vibratory bowl feeder cost?

There is no single standard price because tooling, rate, hopper, track, controls, guarding, trials and integration vary by component. A useful quotation needs representative parts and a defined hand-off condition.

Can an existing bowl feeder be repaired or refurbished?

Often yes. The practical scope depends on tooling wear, drive condition, controller availability, component changes and whether representative parts are available for revalidation.

Can springs and O-rings be fed automatically?

Many can, but springs may tangle and flexible seals may overlap, stick or deform. Representative bulk trials are needed to select the feeding principle.

How should parts feeder output rate be specified?

Use sustained accepted parts per minute at the final hand-off over an agreed test period, with the component set, permitted interventions and buffer condition defined.

What is parts singulation?

Singulation is the separation and controlled release of one component from bulk or a queue so the receiving process gets one part in a known location and condition.

Need help choosing the right feeder?

Send a part photo or drawing, the target rate and the required orientation. We will recommend the most suitable starting point.
